Psychological Therapists — Akiva Sutofsky, LPC in Pittsburgh, PA

Akiva Sutofsky, LPC

Akiva Sutofsky, LPC, received his Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Over the last fifteen years Akiva has been working with adults, adolescents, and families in private practice, as a school based therapist, and as a lecturer. He treats depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, family issues, and social issues. He also offers parent coaching for parents of adolescents. He has additional training in CBT and Person Centered Therapy.

Akiva draws from an intervention tool box from many theoretical modalities, but appreciates that the most important part of the healing and the therapy journey is the relationship between therapist and client. It is important to feel seen and heard. Every client is different and their stories are uniquely theirs. The client must feel that the person sitting across from them has a warm positive regard for them, understands their feelings, and is not judging them. It can be hard to talk about our struggles with another, but the courage it takes to do so may be what changes your life.
